Professor of Law Emeritus Richard W. Edwards, Jr., a faculty member since 1970, is a graduate of Cornell University (BA, JD).

Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Edwards served as Assistant Director of the American Society of International Law, Washington, D.C.,

Professor Edwards has been active in a number of professional and civic organizations including the American Society of International Law (former member Executive Council, and frequent panelist), and national and state bar associations.

Publications include a treatise, International Monetary Collaboration (Dobbs Ferry: Transnational Publishers, 1985) (Received honorable mention for Certificate of Merit of the American Society of International Law, 1986).

Professor Edwards was also the Rapporteur for the ABA Section of International Law and Practice Project on the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank Group, published in 30 International Lawyer 441 (Summer, 1996).

Other articles include "Reservations to Treaties: The BelilosCase and the Work of the International Law Commission," 31 University of Toledo Law Review 195 (Winter 2000), "International Monetary Policy: The Next 25 Years", 25 Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law 209 (1992) and "Reservations to Treaties", 10 Michigan Journal of International Law 362 (Spring, 1989).
