Chad R. Baker is a partner in the law firm of Shumaker, Loop & Kendrick, LLP, and is an Ohio State Bar Association certified Estate Planning, Probate and Trust Law Specialist.

His practice focuses on complex business, tax and estate planning, estate and trust administration, representation of closely held and family owned business transitions, acquisitions and dispositions and of publicly supported and private tax exempt organizations.

He earned a degree in Economics from Ohio University and a Law degree from the University of Toledo. He is a licensed attorney in Ohio, Michigan, Florida and the United States Tax Court.

Chad is a member of the American, Ohio, Michigan, Florida and Toledo Bar Associations, the Toledo Estate Planning Council and a member of the American Bar Association’s Sections on Taxation and Real Property and Probate. He has written articles on estate and business transition planning. In addition to teaching Trust & Estates at the College of Law, he is a frequent speaker for continuing education programs for other lawyers.
