A passing score on the
MPRE is a pre-requisite to State Bar admission in many
jurisdictions. Most law students do not sit for the MPRE until
after taking a course in legal ethics, so please plan your class schedule
accordingly. (i.e. schedule legal ethics sometime prior to your last
semester in law school)
The purpose of the NCBE
Multistate Professional Responsibility Examination (MPRE) is to
measure the examinee's knowledge and understanding of established
standards related to a lawyer's professional conduct. The MPRE
consists of 60 multiple-choice test items. These test items are
followed by 10 Test Center Review items that request the examinee's
reactions to the testing conditions. The examination is two hours
and five minutes in length.
The MPRE is offered
three times a year: March, August, and November.

Fall
Recruitment Information- Graduating
Classes of 2008 & 2009:
Fall 2007 Recruitment
information is now available on the Law Career Services website at
http://law.utoledo.edu/students/career/oncampus.htm.
Please bookmark this website and read all fall recruitment
information
carefully including On Campus Interview,
Resume Collect and Direct Mail as each has different
requirements.
Please check the site
often as there will be additions and changes over the summer
months.
Now is the time to
schedule an individual counseling session to discuss your resume and
cover letter, and your strategy for securing summer and/or
post-graduate employment. Many students find it very helpful
to discuss fall recruitment with a member of the career services
staff through an individual counseling session; it can
save an enormous amount of stress at the end of the summer if
you begin your preparations now.

University of
Michigan On
Campus Interview List Available:
The
University of Michigan Law School hosts an Early Interview Program
in Ann Arbor,
MI that attracts law
firms from across the country in mid-August. This is an opportunity
for qualified students to try to secure meetings with firms outside
our region.
A number of UT LAW
students have been successful in obtaining large firm interviews
this way!
If you are interested in
interviewing with larger firms and have the GPA to be competitive in
this process (typically 3.5 GPA or better), please e-mail Law Career
Services and we will send you a handout explaining how to use the
list and an excel file containing the "U of M On-Campus Interview
List" for Fall 2007. A resume and cover letter critique in
addition to a mock interview will be required.
Please send your e-mail request to
"lcs@utoledo.edu".
