New York

Students who wish to take the New York bar should know that the NY Court of Appeals (NY name for their highest court) now requires that applicants who successfully pass the bar examination in New York State must demonstrate that they have performed 50 hours of qualifying pro bono service before applying for admission to practice. Please read the documents at the following links to familiarize yourself with the rule and to learn how this requirement can be met. Students graduating in May 2013 are not subject to this rule, but current 1Ls and 2Ls wishing to practice in New York will be.
