Professor Llewellyn Joseph Gibbons, a faculty member since 1998, is a graduate of Northeastern University School of Law (JD), and Temple University School of Law (LLM). 

He teaches in the areas of Antitrust, Copyright, Cyberlaw, Ecommerce, Intellectual Property Licensing & Management, Intellectual Property Survey, Online Dispute Resolution (ODR), Torts and Trademark.

Professor Gibbons is responsible for coordinating the College of Law’s certificate program in Intellectual Property Law, the joint Juris Doctor/Masters in Engineering program, and developing a Center for Technology and Intellectual Property Law. 

Professor Gibbons is a panelist for e-Resolution; one of four ICANN recognized Internet domain name dispute resolution services.

Professor Gibbons regularly presents papers on issues relating to cyberlaw, ecommerce, and ODR at national and international symposia and conferences. He has participated in symposia at Cornell University School of Law, Villanova University School of Law, Ohio State University School of Law, among others and presented a paper at the American Association of Law Schools (AALS) Annual Meeting.

In addition, he frequently teaches continuing legal education courses on cyberlaw, ecommerce, and intellectual property. Two of the CLE courses that he is most proud of are American Law Institute-American Bar Association (ALI-ABA), CLE-TV: Ecommerce and American Law Institute-American Bar Association (ALI-ABA), CLE-TV: Practicing Law on the Internet panels on “The Internet” and “Law Firm Web Sites.”

Professor Gibbons also participated in the Federal Trade Commission Public Workshop: U.S. Perspectives on Consumer Protection in the Global Electronic Marketplace, Panel on Alternative Frameworks: Role and Efficacy of Private Sector Initiatives, (June 8-9, 1999).

Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Gibbons was an Adjunct Professor at Franklin Pierce, an Assistant Professor at the University of Orlando, and a Lecturer-in-Law at Temple University School of Law. Professor Gibbons also was a Court Law Clerk for the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit and a Law Clerk for the Massachusetts Teachers Association.
