Resolved: new student email system intermittent password synchronization issue
The password synchronization issue experienced by the new email system for students was resolved yesterday at about 6:00 pm. Main Campus students whose accounts were created can now continue to activate their email accounts by resetting their password at https://myutaccount.utoledo.edu/ if you have not already done so. Once you reset your password you can proceed with activating your account through https://rockets.utoledo.edu/. If you experience a problem authenticating to the Outlook Live site and you have not reset your password since Monday (8/17) at 6pm, please reset your password again and this should resolve the issue.
The following is the email accounts creation and Inbox contents migration plan for the students whose email accounts have not been created and Inbox contents have not been migrated:
- Tuesday August 18 th (8/18), Inbox message migration will begin for main campus students. This process will be performed in Rocket Number sequence in batches of 500. The https://rockets.utoledo.edu web page will be updated with process status information to indicate what rocket number sequences are currently being processed. It is estimated that this process could continue through the end of August to complete the mail migration for all mailboxes. (Once the Inbox messages of a mailbox have been successfully copied, the Inbox messages from the old mailbox will be deleted to avoid confusion.)
- Tuesday August 18 th (8/18), an email message will be sent to the groups of students whose Outlook Live mailbox has not yet been created to inform them that their mailboxes will be created on Wednesday (8/19). These groups include:
- (1) All faculty and staff who are also registered students, and
- (2) All health science students.
- Wednesday August 19 th (8/19), Outlook Live mailboxes will be created for all health science students and faculty and staff who are also registered part-time and full-time students.
- Inbox message migration for the health science students will begin as soon as the main campus student migrations have been completed.
- No Inbox message migration will occur for any students who are also UT faculty or staff.
The dates and timeline are estimates and actual timeline and dates may vary slightly due to larger Inbox contents to be migrated.
