Understanding Conflict of Laws (3d ed. 2002), a treatise coauthored by Professor William M. Richman of the College of Law and Professor William L. Reynolds of the University of Maryland, has been translated into Japanese by three Japanese law professors (Hiroshi Matsuoka, Eiichiro Yoshikawa, Naoshi Takasugi and Naohiro Kitasaka). The project took about three years to complete.

Professor Emeritus Howard M. Friedman's book, "Publicly Held Corporations: A Lawyer’s Guide" published by Oxford University Press. The book provides readers with an introduction to the vast array of legal material that governs the several thousand largest economic entities in the United States.
Professor Kara Bruce was awarded an American Bankruptcy Law Journal Fellowship. The Fellowship is awarded yearly to a small number of full-time professors with research interests in insolvency issues. The Fellowship will sponsor her attendance at the National Conference of Bankruptcy Judges’ annual educational meeting in October, 2011. Speakers at the upcoming meeting will include Justice Elena Kagan and Elizabeth Warren, Assistant to the President and Special Advisor to the Secretary of Treasury on the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
