Admissions

Welcome from the Dean

I congratulate and admire you for your decision to pursue a law degree, and appreciate your interest in The University of Toledo College of Law. A legal education opens the door to impressive career opportunities. Whether you practice law or serve in a leadership position in business, government or social service, the knowledge, skills and insights you gain will serve you well. If you choose to practice law, the degree will help qualify you for what is truly a helping profession. The practice of law is, at its heart, about serving people. Whatever your career choice, the skills and knowledge you gain will help you make a difference in your community.

On this site, we introduce you to The University of Toledo College of Law. It is a community in the truest sense of the word. Faculty members are experienced lawyers and excellent classroom teachers who care about your success. They are genuine experts in their fields, publishing articles in leading law journals and writing books and treatises used by law schools and practicing lawyers. Members of our staff put students first and are committed to your professional development. Our students, too, are an important part of your education. Whether working in our clinics and trial programs, representing us in interschool moot court competitions, writing for our law journal, interning with judges, government agencies and social service agencies, or providing service to underrepresented communities through our volunteer program, our students build a strong foundation for their futures.

As you go through the admissions process, we will provide you with further information about our programs and our people. We invite you to explore the links at left for additional information. The best way to learn about us, however, is to visit our campus, meet our faculty, students and staff, and sit in on a class. We look forward to meeting you.

Sincerely,

Douglas E. Ray
Dean and Professor of Law
