On Toledo, Ohio
Toledo can be considered the gateway to the Midwest. It’s only a few hours away from many major cities such as Chicago, Indianapolis, Cincinnati, Columbus, Cleveland, Louisville, Ann Arbor, and Detroit. Within Toledo there is a wonderful zoo, minor league baseball team, hockey team, science center, convention center, and great UT sports teams. There are restaurants everywhere for every taste.
On Toledo Law
The University has a very knowledgeable and helpful staff willing to go out of their way. The campus is beautiful, and there is plenty of affordable housing in the surrounding areas.
Advice
My best advice for incoming 1Ls is to not fall behind. Start outlining early… If you are not following along in a class it will be very difficult to teach yourself the class at the end in just a few days before the final. Take advantage of the professor's office hours during the semester and start reviewing everything from the start.
Favorite Professor
My favorite 1L class has been Torts with Professor Slater. He was very knowledgable on the subject and made the class interesting.
On Studying
I study in the library. I tried studying at home, but there are way too many distractions at home to be as productive as possible. Halfway through the semester I started going to the library on a daily basis, to find a nice quiet spot, put some music on with my headphones and go to work.
