College of Law Faculty—Professor Rebecca Zietlow

Professor Rebecca Zietlow was recently invited to speak as a panelist at a symposium presented by Columbia Law School’s law review. The symposium focused on the Thirteenth Amendment’s meaning, enforcement, and modern implications.

 

Professor Zietlow also recently presented her article “Democratic Constitutionalism and the Affordable Care Act” at a conference, “Whose Constitution? Popular Con­stitutionalism and the 2012 Election” held at Roger Wil­liams University School of Law.

Professor Zietlow has been a faculty member at the College of Law since 1995. She is a graduate of Barnard college (BA) and Yale Law School (JD).

 

Prior to joining the faculty, Professor Zietlow clerked for the Honorable John F. Grady, United states District Court, Northern district of Illinois. She also spent four years as a staff attorney for the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago.

 

In addition to her expertise in Constitutional Law, Professor Zietlow has published in many areas including: welfare reform, due process, and congressional enforce­ment of civil rights.

 

Professor Zietlow is a regular contributor to on campus events and debates, and has previously worked with and mentored the University of Toledo Law Review.

Featured Student Ambassador: Sam  Marcellino

The University of Toledo College of Law Student Ambassador program provides prospective students an opportunity to con­nect with a current student.

 

This months featured Ambassador is Sam Marcellino. Sam is a third year law student at the University of Toledo. He is current­ly an intern in the Toledo Prosecutors Office and President of the University of Toledo Student Bar Association.

 

Sam graduated the University of Kentucky with a degree in Cor­porate Communications.  Sam enjoys soccer, basketball, golf, baseball, Kentucky Athletics, and guitar.

Around Town: Toledo Area Events  and Entertainment

Schedule a Visit While You Are  on Break

· The admissions office will be open over break (9 am—5 pm) to give tours and meet with prospective students

Nov. 16 –Dec. 31 The Toledo Zoo Lights, a Toledo  Tradition: Magical Christmas decorations and ice   carving bring the zoo to life for the winter holidays.

 

Oct.-Mar. Catch the Toledo Walleye in action. The To­ledo Walleye are Toledo’s minor league Hockey team. They play in downtown at the Huntington Center.
